NEW DELHI: Shares of State Bank of India (Rs 8161.63 crore), ICICI Bank (Rs 3654.40 crore) and Punjab National Bank (Rs 3137.66 crore) were among the most active stocks in terms of value on NSE on Wednesday.

Bank of Baroda (Rs 2458.18 crore), Axis Bank (Rs 1760.51 crore), YES Bank (Rs 1111.33 crore), HDFC Bank (Rs 961.89 crore), Kotak Mahindra Bank (Rs 841.11 crore), Larsen & Toubro (Rs 762.52 crore), Infosys (Rs 653.06 crore), HDFC (Rs 641.65 crore) and IndusInd Bank (Rs 572.52 crore) were the other stocks in that league.

Equity benchmarks closed with robust gains on Wednesday.

The Nifty50 index closed 88 points higher at 10,295, while Sensex settled 435 points up at 33,042.

Bajaj Corp, Bharat Forge, Bharti Airtel, Birla Corporation, Canara Bank, Century Textiles & Industries, Delta Corp, GAIL (India), Jubilant Foodworks, Punjab National Bank, State Bank of India and The South Indian Bank hit fresh 52-week highs on NSE on Wednesday.
