Market rises; SBI, RIL among most active stocks in terms of value on NSE

NEW DELHI: Shares of SBI (Rs 396.29 crore), RIL (Rs 326.00 crore), Axis Bank ( Rs 258.87 crore), Larsen & Toubro ( Rs 212.76 crore), HDFC Bank (Rs 205.25 crore), Tech Mahindra (Rs 203.17 crore), Maruti Suzuki (Rs 190.03 crore), ICICI Bank (Rs 188.69 crore), Kotak Bank (Rs 169.66 crore), and HDFC (Rs 162.40 crore) stood among the most active stocks in terms of value till 1.10 pm (IST).

The NSE Nifty was up 54.65 points at 9,099.85 around the same time.

In the Nifty 50 index, Tech Mahindra (down 2.70 per cent), ONGC (down 0.87 per cent), Tata Power (down 0.57 per cent), GAIL (down 0.55 per cent), ITC (down 0.34 per cent), Grasim Industries (down 0.32 per cent), Hero MotoCorp (down 0.31 per cent), BPCL (down 0.23 per cent) and RIL (down 0.18 per cent) were trading in the red.

On the other hand, Axis Bank (up 2.16 per cent), Tata Motors (up 1.96 per cent), Bharti Infratel (up 1.92 per cent), Zee Entertainment (up 1.91 per cent), HDFC (up 1.89 per cent) , HCL Tech (up 1.74 per cent), ACC (up 1.46 per cent), Aurobindo Pharm (up 1.37 per cent), Tata Motors (up 1.34 per cent) and ICICI Bank (up 1.28 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Most active stocks in terms of value help investors identify the stocks with the highest trading turnover during the day.

Shares of Dishman Pharma, Gulshan Polyols, Action Const., Weizmann Ltd, Neuland Labs, Cimmco Ltd, Emmbi Ind, Onward Tech, Venkys (India), IVP Ltd hit their fresh 52-week high in trade on Tuesday.

On the other hand, FCS Software, JMT Auto, PTL Enterprises, Viji Finance, ANG Industries, Bombay Rayon, Noida Toll Bridge, Global Offshore, Sharon Bio-Med, and TTK Healthcare touched their new 52-week low levels during the day.
