Market Now: SAIL, Power Grid most active stocks in terms of volume

NEW DELHI: Shares of SAIL (number of shares traded: 0.12 crore), PowerGrid (0.10 crore), Infosys (0.09 crore) and ICICI Bank (0.08 crore) were trading as the most active stocks in terms of volume in Tuesday's early session.

YES Bank (0.07 crore), State Bank of India (0.07 crore), JSW Steel (0.06 crore), Vedanta (0.05 crore), Lupin (0.05 crore), Hindalco Industries (0.05 crore), Reliance Industries (0.04 crore) and Tata Steel (0.04 crore) were also among the most traded stocks on the National Stock Exchange in Tuesday’s session.

The NSE Nifty index was trading 32.5 points up at 10021.25, while BSE Sensex was up 95.53 points at 31942.42 around 09:30 am (IST) on October 10.

In the Nifty index, Lupin (up 2.33 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma (up 1.41 per cent), Bharti Infratel (up 1.22 per cent), IndusInd Bank (up 1.17 per cent) and Cipla (up 1.10 per cent) were among top gainers.

On the other hand, Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone (down 0.48 per cent), Housing Development Finance Corporation (down 0.47 per cent), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (down 0.47 per cent) and ITC (down 0.32 per cent) were among the top losers among the Nifty stocks.

On the NSE, 1096 stocks were advancing, compared with 418 stocks declining and 434 stocks remaining unchanged.
