Market Now: Over 75 stocks hit fresh 52-week high today

NEW DELHI: Over 75 stocks, including Ambuja Cements, Bajaj Finance, Bharat Financial Inclusion, Bombay Dyeing, Dewan Housing Finance Corporation, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Indraprastha Gas, JSW Steel, L&T Finance Holdings, Mahanagar Gas, Page Industries, Tata Global Beverages and Titan Company hit fresh 52-week highs on NSE in Wednesday's trade, defying bearish trend.

However, Nakoda, Sri Adhikari, Vimal Oil Food, PSL, Usher Agro, Intrasoft Tech, Provogue India, Alps Industries, Ess Dee Aluminum, Ruchi Infra and Religare were among those 17 stocks that touched their new 52-week lows in Wednesday's trade so far.

Benchmark indices remained lower, following weak Asian peers.

Apart from continuous foreign fund outflows, deep losses at other Asian bourses and the US markets as investors reacted with dismay to lingering worries about North Korea nuclear crisis led to a slide in the domestic benchmark indices.

In the Nifty50 index, Gail, Ambuja Cements, Hindalco, YES Bank, UltraTech Cements, Indiabulls Housing Finance and Kotak Mahindra Bank were gaining.

On the other hand, Sun Pharma, ITC, Lupin, Axis Bank, Bharat Petroleum and Tata Motors slipped over 1 per cent.

Among the sectoral losers, Nifty Pharma led, followed by FMCG and realty indices.

Nifty50 index was trading 42 points lower at 9,910, while the 30-share Sensex was 159 points down at 31,650 around 11.56 am (IST).

In the Nifty50 pack, 18 stocks were trading in green, while 32 stocks were in red.

On BSE, 1,169 stocks were advancing whereas 1,087 stocks were lagging.
