Market Now: Over 40 stocks hit fresh 52-week highs

NEW DELHI: Over 40 stocks, including Action Construction Equipment, Balkrishna Industries, Goa Carbon, Graphite India, Hexaware Technologies and KPIT Technologies hit fresh 52-week highs on NSE in Tuesday's trade, defying the bearish market sentiment.

Shares of Lux Industries, Minda Corporation, Minda Industries, Vakrangee, Vardhman Holdings and VIP Industries were also in the league.

On the contrary, over 20 stocks, including Apollo Hospitals Enterprise, Cambridge Technology Enterprises, Dena Bank, Reliance Communications, United Bank of India and Videocon Industries hit fresh 52-week lows on NSE in Tuesday's trade so far.

Equity benchmarks were in the negative zone due to selling in oil, telecom and IT stocks. However, bourses pared losses as buying emerged in metal, auto and pharma stocks.

Benchmark Nifty50 index was 8 points down at 10,217, while the 30-share Sensex was 11 points down at 33,023 around 11 am (IST).

Shares of NTPC, Lupin, Bajaj Auto, Hero MotoCorp, UPL and Hindalco Industries were among the top gainers in the Nifty50 index.

However, Bharti Infratel, Bharat Petroleum Corporation, Indian Oil Corporation, IndusInd Bank, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation and Tata Consultancy Services were among the top losers.

In the Nifty50 pack, 26 stocks were in the green, while 24 stocks were in the red.
