Market Now: Over 15 stocks hit fresh 52-week high today

NEW DELHI: Over 15 stocks, including Asahi India Glass, Avadh Sugar & Energy, Avanti Feeds, Bata India, Future Retail, Indraprastha Gas, PC Jeweller, Titan Company and Tube Investments of India hit their fresh 52-week high on NSE in Monday's trade.

However, Bhagyanagar India, IDBI Bank, Mandhana Industries, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, Clariant Chemicals (India), Ganges Securities and HMT Limited were among the 34 stocks that hit a fresh 52-week low in Monday's trade so far.

Domestic equity markets were trading in positive zone after registering a strong start, with Sensex rising more than 250 points and Nifty adding nearly 80 points, backed by positive global cues.

Benchmark Nifty50 index was 80 points up at 9,791, while the 30-share Sensex was 248 points up at 31,462 around 11.08 am (IST).

Pharma, metal, bank and auto stocks caught investors' attention.

Cipla, Tata Steel, Eicher Motors, HDFC, Vedanta, Hindalco, YES Bank, Aurobindo Pharma and Maruti were among the top gainers in Nifty50 index around that time.

However, BPCL, Bosch, Bharti Airtel, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories and Kotak Mahindra Bank were at the bottom in the index.

In the Nifty50 pack, 38 stocks were trading in green, while 12 stocks were in red.

On BSE, 1,737 stocks were advancing whereas 482 stocks were lagging.
