Market Now: Nifty Pharma top sectoral gainer; Divi's Lab zooms over 16%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index was trading as the top gainer among the sectoral indices on NSE in Thursday's trade.

The Nifty Pharma index was trading 3.39 per cent up at 10,041 around 11:10 am (IST).

Among the gainers in the index, shares of Divi's Laboratories (up 16.36 per cent) surged over 16 per cent on reports that the USFDA will lift the import alert of its Visakhapatnam plant.

Shares of Aurobindo Pharma (up 4.34 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals (up 4.05 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (up 3.28 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (up 3.25 per cent), Cadila Healthcare (up 3.12 per cent), Lupin (up 2.87 per cent) and Cipla (up 1.56 per cent) were also trading up.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was 9 points up at 10,449, while the BSE Sensex was 55 points up at 33,656.

Among the 51 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 25 were trading in the green, while 25 were in the red.

Shares of Aurobindo Pharma, Dr Reddy's Labs, Sun Pharma, Lupin, GAIL and ICICI Bank were among the top gainers in the Nifty50 index.

However, Tech Mahindra, Hindalco, Zee Entertainment, Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra and Hero MotoCorp were among the top losers.
