Market Now: Nifty IT index marginally up; MindTree gains 2%

NEW DELHI: IT stocks MindTree (up 2.08 per cent), Tata Elxsi (up 1.58 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services (up 0.97 per cent) and HCL Technologies (up 0.38 per cent) were trading up in afternoon trade on Wednesday, keeping the Nifty IT index marginally up.

The Nifty IT index was trading 0.05 per cent up at 11,125 around 01:25 pm (IST).

However, Tech Mahindra (down 2.15 per cent), Infibeam Incorporation (down 0.64 per cent), KPIT Technologies (down 0.38 per cent), Oracle Financial Services Software (down 0.21 per cent) and Infosys (down 0.04 per cent) were trading down around that time.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was 18 points up at 10,345, while the BSE Sensex was 97 points up at 33,575.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 21 were trading in the green, while 29 were in the red.

Shares of Ashok Leyland, State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, Bank of Baroda, Idea Cellular, SAIL, Tata Motors, DLF, ITC, ICICI Bank, YES Bank and Tata Power were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange.
