Market Now: L&T, Sun Pharma most active in value terms

The domestic equity market was trading in red on Tuesday morning with NSE Nifty down 4.35 points at 9600.55 around 10.35 am (IST).

However, shares of Aurobindo Pharm (Rs 526.71 crore), Larsen & Toubro (Rs 444.08 crore), Sun Pharma (Rs 248.84 crore), PFC (Rs 227.04 crore), BHEL (Rs 201.66 crore) and ICICI Bank (Rs 180.37 crore) were the most active stocks in value.

Maruti Suzuki (Rs 103.22 crore), SBI (Rs 91.77 crore), DLF (Rs 88.33 crore), YES Bank (Rs 85.52 crore), Hindalco Inds. (Rs 82.15 crore), Dabur India (Rs 79.32 crore), Bank of Baroda (Rs 74.25 crore), Indian Oil Corp (Rs 72.34 crore), HDFC (Rs 71.90 crore), RIL (Rs 71.49 crore), Lupin (Rs 68.08 crore), ITC (Rs 64.84 crore), BPCL (Rs 63.62 crore) and Axis Bank (Rs 61.46 crore) stood among other most active stocks in terms of value on NSE on Tuesday.

Most Active stocks in terms of value help investors to identify the stocks with highest trading turnover during the day.

In the Nifty 50 index, BPCL (down 3.01 per cent), PowerGrid (down 2.89 per cent), Bharti Infratel (down 2.14 per cent), Coal India Ltd (down 1.80 per cent), Zee Ent. (down 1.54 per cent), ITC (down 1.17 per cent), Hind. Unilever (down 1.14 per cent), TCS (down 1.08 per cent), ACC (down 1.02 per cent), IndusInd Bank (down 0.92 per cent) and Kotak Bank (down 0.90 per cent)stood among top losers.

On the other hand, Aurobindo Pharm (up 8.31 per cent), Dr Reddys Labs (up 2.64 per cent), NTPC (up 2.30 per cent), ICICI Bank (up 2.27 per cent), Lupin (up 2.25 per cent), Adani Ports SEZ (up 2.01 per cent), Tech Mahindra (up 1.59 per cent), Hindalco Inds. (up 1.37 per cent), Indian Oil Corp (up 1.37 per cent), GAIL (up 1.11 per cent), Cipla (up 1.11 per cent), Grasim Inds. (up 1.01 per cent), Infosys (up 0.95 per cent) and Bank of Baroda (up 0.84 per cent) topped on the Nifty 50 chart.
