Market Now: ITC, RIL, ACC among most active stocks in terms of value today

NEW DELHI: Shares of ITC (Rs 2648.06 crore), followed by Reliance Industries (Rs 318.25 crore), ACC (Rs 222.87 crore), Infosys (Rs 152.60 crore), SBI (Rs 121.74 crore), Hindustan Unilever (Rs 118.82 crore) and Zee Entertainment (Rs 109.60 crore) emerged as most active stocks in terms of value on NSE in Tuesday's trade.

Domestic equity markets opened on a negative note with Sensex cracking over 400 points intraday and Nifty50 slipped below 9,800, taking cues from global peers.

Stocks led by FMCG, metals and realty were major losers that dragged both the key indices down from their record highs.

In the Nifty 50 index, ITC (down 10.92 per cent), GAIL (down 1.74 per cent) and Reliance Industries (down 1.70 per cent) were among top losers.

However, markets pared losses with Nifty50 moving above 9,800 and Sensex 31,900 marks.

PSU banks, pharma and IT stocks were leading among other stocks, with ACC (up 2.05 per cent), Sun Pharma (up 1.65 per cent), Cipla (up 1.58 per cent), YES Bank (up 1.39 per cent) and Infosys (up 1.36 per cent) as top gainers.

Benchmark Nifty50 index was 45 points down at 9,870, while the 30-share Sensex was 215 points down at 31,859 around 10.50 am (IST).

In the Nifty50 pack, 41 stocks were trading in green, while 9 stocks were in red.

On BSE, 1,088 stocks were advancing whereas 1,088 stocks were lagging.
