Market now: ICICI Bank, SBI, ITC soar in volume

With 1.07 crore shares, ICICI Bank stood among the most active stocks in terms of value on NSE in the afternoon trade at around 12.40 am (IST). It was followed by Idea Cellular (0.89 crore), Tata Motors (0.76 crore), ITC (0.65 crore), SBI (0.64 crore) PNB (0.63 crore), Vedanta Ltd (0.59 crore), DLF (0.54 crore), Ashok Leyland (0.47 crore), Lupin (0.45 crore), Hindalco Industries (0.45 crore), SAIL (0.38 crore), Bank of Baroda (0.37 crore), PFC (0.34 crore), Adani Ports SEZ (0.30 crore), Sun Pharma (0.29 crore), JSW Steel (0.28 crore), PowerGrid (0.27 crore), GAIL (0.27 crore), ONGC (0.26 crore).

The NSE Nifty index was trading 54.55 points up at 9415.1, while BSE Sensex was trading 165.62 points up at 30467.26 in the afternoon deals.

In the Nifty index, Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (up 3.74 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd. (up 2.35 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd. (up 2.09 per cent), GAIL (India) Ltd. (up 2.02 per cent) and Tech Mahindra Ltd. (up 1.77 per cent) were among top gainers.

On the other hand, Lupin Ltd. (down 7.21 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (down 2.58 per cent), Cipla Ltd. (down 2.42 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. (down 2.21 per cent) and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (down 0.93 per cent) were among top losers.
