Market Now: Flexituff, Godfrey Phillips pull smallcap index down

NEW DELHI: Shares of Flexituff International (down 9.07 per cent), Gujarat NRE Coke (down 7.43 per cent), Shilpi Cable Technologies (down 4.92 per cent), Godfrey Phillips India (down 4.85 per cent), Videocon Industries (down 4.84 per cent) and Unitech (down 4.81 per cent) emerged as top loser smallcap stocks as the BSE SmallCap index was trading 0.09 per cent down at 15895.14 around 11:28 am (IST).

On the contrary, shares of Moser Baer India (up 17.83 per cent), HCL Infosystems (up 14.27 per cent), Man Industries (India) (up 10.60 per cent), KRBL (up 8.19 per cent) and Supreme Infrastructure India (up 7.93 per cent) surged on the index.

Earlier, negative global cues dealt a blow to the domestic equity market sentiment with Sensex slipping over 400 points while Nifty50 was trading below 9,800.

However, markets pared losses with Nifty50 moving above 9,800 and Sensex 31,900 marks, respectively.

The broader BSE Sensex was 238 points down at 31,837 while the benchmark Nifty50 too was 55 points lower at 9,860 around 11.28 am (IST).

In the Nifty50 pack, 40 stocks were trading in green, while 11 stocks were in red.

On BSE, 1,006 stocks were advancing whereas 1,313 stocks were lagging.
