Market Now: Check out stocks that surged over 20% today

NEW DELHI: Shares of Raj Rayon (up 25 per cent), Nakoda (up 20 per cent) and Nagarjuna Fertilizers and Chemicals (up 20 per cent) surged over 20 per cent in Tuesday's trade, floating on the waves of a positive market.

Stocks such as NDTV (up 19.98 per cent), Lambodhara Text (up 19.97 per cent), Tainwala Chem (up 19.95 per cent), Southern Petro (up 19.93 per cent) and Indbank Merc (up 19.88 per cent) surged up to 20 per cent.

The overall market sentiment remained positive on sustained buying in realty, metal, bank and auto stocks.

However, pharma, telecom and IT stocks were seen under pressure.

Coal India, Bajaj Auto, Reliance Industries, Asian Paints and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation were the leaders in Sensex kitty.

Bharti Airtel remained the top loser in the index, followed by Sun Pharma, Power Grid, Cipla and Lupin.

Benchmark Nifty50 index was 39 points up at 9,952, while the 30-share Sensex was 137 points up at 31,839 around 2.22 pm (IST).

In the Nifty50 pack, 34 stocks were trading in the green, while 17 stocks were in red.

On BSE, 1,560 stocks were advancing whereas 877 stocks were lagging.
