Market Now: BSE Smallcap index marginally up; Zen Technologies, Manpasand Beverages among gainers

NEW DELHI: Shares of Waterbase (up 11.04 per cent), Indosolar (up 9.12 per cent) and Zen Technologies (up 8.65 per cent) zoomed over 8 per cent in BSE Smallcap index in morning trade on Thursday.

The S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading 0.03 per cent up at 17,987 around 10:20 am (IST).

Shares of Manpasand Beverages (up 7.75 per cent), Camlin Fine Sciences (up 7.54 per cent), AVT Natural Products (up 6.54 per cent), DCM Shriram (up 5.69 per cent) and BF Investment (up 5.15 per cent) climbed over 5 per cent in the smallcap index.

On the other hand, Ruchi Soya Industries (down 12.50 per cent), Gujarat NRE Coke (down 10 per cent), Bodal Chemicals (down 8.07 per cent), JVL Agro Industries (down 7.85 per cent) and Lycos Internet (down 7.71 per cent) declined over 7 per cent in the smallcap space.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was 14 points up at 10,207, whle the BSE Sensex was 28 points up at 33,081.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 29 were trading in the green, while 20 were in the red.

Dr Reddy's Labs, Mahindra and Mahindra, Lupin, Axis Bank and Infosys were trading among the top gainers in the Sensex index.

However, Tata Consultancy Services, Power Grid Corporation, Sun Pharma, Hindustan Unilever and Kotak Mahindra Bank were among the losers in the Sensex kitty.
