Market Now: BSE Healthcare index declines 1%; Cadila cracks 5%

NEW DELHI: The S&P BSE Healthcare index was trading nearly 1 per cent down at 13,900 around 12:25 pm (IST) on Thursday, with shares of Cadila Healthcare (down 4.59 per cent), Wockhardt (down 2.77 per cent) and Strides Shasun (down 2.31 per cent) as the top losers.

Shares of Aurobindo Pharma (down 2.07 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals (down 2.05 per cent), Sanofi India (down 2 per cent), Panacea Biotec (down 1.82 per cent), Ipca Laboratories (down 1.75 per cent), Aarti Drugs (down 1.74 per cent), Lupin (down 1.30 per cent), Divi's Laboratories (down 1.26 per cent) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (down 1.17 per cent) were also trading in the red.

However, shares of Hester Biosciences (up 6.15 per cent), AstraZeneca Pharma India (up 4.81 per cent), Unichem Laboratories (up 3.72 per cent), Indoco Remedies (up 3.42 per cent) and Opto Circuits India (up 2.79 per cent) were trading up around that time.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was 12 points down at 10,291, while the BSE Sensex was 37 points down at 33,182.

Among the 51 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 23 were trading in the green, while 27 were in the red.

Asian Paints, ICICI Bank, Reliance Industries, Hindustan Unilever, NTPC, Adani Ports and Bharti Airtel were the top gainers in the Sensex index.

On the other hand, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation, HDFC, ITC, Axis Bank, Coal India, Sun Pharma, Lupin and Power Grid Corporation were the top losers.
