Market Now: BSE Capital Goods index in the red; Kalpataru Power, Sadbhav Engineering top drags

NEW DELHI: Shares of Kalpataru Power Transmissions (down 2.30 per cent), Sadbhav Engineering (down 1.53 per cent), CG Power and Industrial Solutions (down 1.52 per cent), SKF India (down 1.36 per cent) and Siemens (down 1.23 per cent) declined over 1 per cent in BSE Capital Goods index in Thursday's trade.

The S&P BSE Capital Goods index was trading 0.19 per cent down at 18,085 around 11 am (IST).

However, shares of Finolex Cables (up 4.15 per cent), GE T&D India (up 1.04 per cent), AIA Engineering (up 0.95 per cent), ABB India (up 0.86 per cent), Thermax (up 0.77 per cent) and Schaeffler India (up 0.66 per cent) were trading up in the capital goods index around that time.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was 9 points down at 10,184, while the BSE Sensex was 40 points down at 33,014.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 20 were trading in the green, while 29 were in the red.

Dr Reddy's Labs, Mahindra and Mahindra, Asian Paints, Lupin, Axis Bank and Infosys were trading among the top gainers in the Sensex index.

However, Tata Consultancy Services, Tata Steel, Sun Pharma, Power Grid Corporation, Hindustan Unilever and Bharti Airtel were among the losers in the Sensex kitty.
