NEW DELHI: Extending the losses for the fourth consecutive sessions, the BSE Bankex index was trading in red in Tuesday's trade with shares of YES Bank (down 1.73 per cent), Bank of Baroda (down 1.48 per cent), Punjab National Bank (down 0.98 per cent), Federal bank (down 0.94 per cent) and State Bank of India (down 0.73 per cent) as the top losers in the index.

However, shares of Axis Bank (up 1.38 per cent), IndusInd Bank (up 0.21 per cent), ICICI Bank (up 0.10 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 0.09 per cent) were trading up.

The BSE Bankex index was trading 28 points, or 0.10 per cent down, at 26997 around 10.40 am (IST).

Benchmark indices remained in green. Pharma, FMCG, IT indices were in green while others slipped into the negative zone.

Indian Oil Corporation, Tech Mahindra, Lupin, Hindalco, Bharti Infratel, Sun Pharma, BPCL, Dr Reddy's and ONGC were Nifty gainers.

However, Indiabulls Housing Finance, YES Bank, Bank of Baroda, Tata Steel, Hero MotoCorp, Power Grid, State Bank of India and Infosys were among the top losers in the Nifty pack.

Benchmark Nifty50 index was 13 points up at 9,767, while the 30-share Sensex was 45 points up at 31,304 around 10.40 am (IST).

In the Nifty50 pack, 33 stocks were trading in green, while 18 stocks were in red.
