Market Now: Bharti Airtel, SBI, PNB hit fresh 52-week highs on NSE

NEW DELHI: Nearly 60 stocks, including Berger Paints, Bharti Airtel, Century Textiles & Industries and Dilip Buildcon hit fresh 52-week highs on NSE in Wednesday's trade.

Delta Corp, Electrosteel Steels, Hexaware Technologies, Jindal Stainless (Hisar), NBCC (India), NCC, NTPC, Punjab National Bank, Raymond, State Bank of India and Zodiac Clothing Company were some other stocks that hit fresh 52-week highs on NSE.

On the contrary, Gemini Communication, Hind Syntex, Khaitan Electricals, Stampede Capital and TV Vision were among those 12 stocks that hit fresh 52-week lows on NSE in Wednesday's trade so far.

Equity benchmarks registered strong opening today, reacting positively to the macroeconomic policy announcements made on Tuesday.

Both Nifty50 and Sensex touched their fresh record highs of 10,340.55 and 33,117.33, respectively.

The NSE Nifty index was trading 47 points up at 10,254, while BSE Sensex was up 249 points at 32,856 around 10:40 am (IST).

In the Nifty index, State Bank of India, ICICI Bank, Larsen & Toubro, UltraTech Cement, Bharti Infratel, Infosys, GAIL (India), Axis Bank, Boschand Wipro were among the top gainers.

However, Indiabulls Housing Finance, IndusInd Bank, HDFC Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Bajaj Finance, Housing Development Finance Corporation, YES Bank, Bharti Airtel, Hindalco Industries and HCL Technologies were the top losers among the Nifty stocks.

On the NSE, 729 stocks were advancing, compared with 863 stocks declining and 375 stocks remaining unchanged.
