Wipro (down 4.29 pedr cent) cracked over 4 per cent. Gail, Mahindra & Mahindra, Eicher Motors, Maruti and Tata Consultancy Services were the other top losers of the Nifty index.
Pharma and bank stocks, however, were holding up.
Axis Bank, Sun Pharma, Cipla, Aurobindo Pharma, Dr Reddy's, Lupin, Bank of Baroda and YES Bank were leading the Nifty pack.
Broader midcap and small cap indices were outperforming benchmarks.
The BSE Midcap index was trading 0.38 per cent up at 15,986, while the S& BSE Smallcap index was 0.52 per cent up at 16,606 around 12.04 pm (IST).
Benchmark Nifty50 index was 0.01 per cent down at 10,078, while the 30-share Sensex was 0.08 per cent up at 32,212 around the same time.
In the Nifty50 pack, 25 stocks were trading in the green, while 26 stocks were in red.
