Market gains; Edelweiss, Dishman Pharma at fresh 52-week high

NEW DELHI: As 32 stocks in the Nifty50 pack were trading with gains in Wednesday's session, Edelweiss Financial Services and Dishman Pharma, among others, touched their fresh 52-week high.

Shares of Vardhman Special, Dishman Pharma, Urja Global, Edelweiss Fin, Kalpataru Power, Sterling Tools, Lincoln Pharma, IFB Industries, Blue Star Ltd and ABM International Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week high during the trade.

However, stocks such as Sujana Metal, Sujana Towers, PTL Enterprises, Green Fire Agri, Ruchi Infra, IOL Chemicals, Bharati Ship, Signet Ind, ANG Industries, GOL Offshore touched their fresh 52-week low.

The NSE Nifty index was trading 24.50 points higher at 9,125.30 around 12.50 pm (IST) following firm Asian cues. Nineteen Nifty50 stocks were in the red.

In the Nifty 50 index, Bharti Infratel, SBI, Tata Power, Asian Paints, ICICI Bank, HCL Tech, Bank of Baroda, Larsen & Toubro, Coal India Ltd and Ambuja Cements were trading in the green, while Grasim Industries, Sun Pharma, M&M, Aurobindo Pharma, Infosys, GAIL, Kotak Bank, Yes Bank, Hero MotoCorp, and BPCL were in the red.

The BSE Sensex was up 86.40 points at 29,495.92 at around the same time.

Traders were seen piling up positions in infrastructure, paints and pigments, shipping, equipments, petrochemicals, finance, beverages - non-alcoholic, retail, personal care, hospitality sectors, while selling was visible in aquaculture, electronics, packaging, iron and steel, glass, rubber, engineering, transport, metals - non ferrous, and textiles sectors.
