Market close: Sensex, Nifty snap record 8-day winning streak on profit-taking

Snapping a record-equalling eight-day winning streak, the domestic equity market ended on a negative note on Tuesday, as investors’ focus shifted to September quarter GDP data due on Thursday. Profit taking in index heavyweights Infosys, Reliance, ICICI Bank, ITC and Larsen & Toubro also weighed on the equities. A day after equalling year’s longest winning streak of eight days, Sensex ended 105 points lower at 33,618.59, while the Nifty50 closed at 10,370.25, down 29 points.
