Asian markets edged higher this morning, as investors gave a guarded reception to Republican plans for massive US tax cuts and appointment of a new governor at the Fed.

Meanwhile, the rupee gave up its initial gains and ended two paise lower at 64.61 against the American currency in a quiet Thursday session after a three-day run. .
In other news, Mahindra Logistics' IPO was oversubscribed nearly eight times on the last day of the sale on Thursday. The issue of New India Assurance was subscribed 1.07 times on Day 2, while Khadim's IPO, which opened on Thursday, saw 14 per cent subscription on the very first day.
In earnings today Edelweiss Financial Services, Godrej Properties, Hindalco, PFC, Punjab National Bank, Shipping Corporation of India, Tata Power, Titan, Torren Pharma, Union Bank and UCO Bank will announce their financial results on Friday for the quarter ended September 30, 2017.
