Share market update: IT shares in the green; NIIT Tech surges 9%

NEW DELHI: IT shares were trading in the green in Friday's session.

Shares of NIIT Technologies (up 8.59 per cent) , Infosys (up 6.31 per cent) , Mindtree (up 5.94 per cent) , Just Dial (up 5.01 per cent) , MPhasis (up 4.88 per cent) , Tata Consultancy (up 4.31 per cent) , Wipro (up 4.24 per cent) , HCL Technologies (up 2.6 per cent) , Tech Mahindra (up 2.55 per cent) and Info Edge (India) (up 1.21 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty IT index was trading 4.26 per cent up at 15024.4 around 12:11PM.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 75.85 points at 10364.75, while the BSE Sensex was up 247.72 points at 35089.82.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, BHEL, Ashok Leyland, ITC, Tata Power, Tata Motors, Indian Oil Corp, SBI, Federal Bank and IndusInd Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
