Share market update: Auto shares mixed; Bajaj Auto rises 2%

NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading on a mixed note in Friday's session.

Shares of Bajaj Auto (up 2.38 per cent) , Motherson Sumi Systems (up 1.2 per cent) , Amara Raja Batteries (up 1.2 per cent) , MRF (up 1.17 per cent) , Eicher Motors (up 0.82 per cent) and Apollo Tyres (up 0.09 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Ashok Leyland (down 1.78 per cent) , Bharat Forge (down 1.01 per cent), Bosch (down 0.81 per cent) , Tata Motors (down 0.77 per cent) , Maruti Suzuki (down 0.7 per cent) , TVS Motor Company (down 0.21 per cent) , Mahindra & Mahindra (down 0.09 per cent) , Exide Industries (down 0.03 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp (down 0.03 per cent) were the top losers in the index.


The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.16 per cent up at 6748.45 around 11:49AM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 73.90 points at 10362.8, while the BSE Sensex was up 233.6 points at 35075.7.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, BHEL, Ashok Leyland, ITC, Tata Power, Tata Motors, Indian Oil Corp, SBI, Federal Bank and IndusInd Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
