NEW DELHI: With 0.88 crore shares, shares of State Bank of India emerged as the most active stock in terms of volume in Tuesday's morning trade, despite market erased early gains due to selling in banking, oil and gas, and automobile stocks.

The pack of most active stocks in terms of volume in the morning trade was dominated by banking stocks such as ICICI Bank, Punjab National Bank (PNB), Bank of Baroda and Axis Bank.

Other stocks following them included DLF, ITC, PFC, BPCL, Hindalco, Aurobindo Pharma, Reliance Industries, Tata Power and Vedanta.

Benchmark Nifty50 index was 44 points down at 9,531, while the 30-share Sensex was 106 points down at 31,032 around 11 am (IST).

Meanwhile, shares of Tokyo Plast International, JP Associates, MEP Infrastructure Developers, Magnum Ventures, Vimta Labs, Control Print, SPML Infra, Cox & Kings, Himadri Chem, AdityaBirlaNuvo and Elgi Equipments hit their fresh 52-week high in Tuesday's trade.
