HUL Q3 profit rises 9% YoY to Rs 1,444 crore, meets Street estimates

NEW DELHI: FMCG major Hindustan Unilever (HUL) on Thursday reported a 9 per cent year-on-year rise in profit at Rs 1,444 crore for December quarter.

Analysts in an ET NOW poll had estimated the profit figure at Rs 1,452 crore.

The company had reported Rs 1,326 crore profit in the year-ago period.


Sales for the quarter rose 12 per cent to Rs 9,357 crore. Domestic consumer sales were up 13 per cent on a yearly basis, the company said in a regulator filing.

Ebitda for the quarter came in at Rs 2,046 crore, up 22 per cent over Rs 1,680 crore in the December quarter last year. Ebitda margin improved by 170 basis points to 21.4 per cent on a year-on-year basis.

Demand is likely to remain stable, said Chairman and Managing Director Sanjiv Mehta.
