US dollar firms up against the rupee

MUMBAI: The US dollar firmed up against the rupee at Rs 44.51/52 per dollar but the Pound Sterling turned lower at Rs 73.38/40 per pound at the close of the Interbank Foreign Exchange Market (Forex) here today.
