On SSR's 1st death anniversary, Ankita Lokhande shares their 'journey'; Bhumi Pednekar, B-town pay tribute

A year later, even as the investigation into the actor's death continues, his fans and Bollywood stars, on Monday, took to social media to remember the 'Kai Po Che' actor.
A year ago, actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Bandra house on June 14. The untimely death of the 34-year-old left many shocked and heartbroken, starting a discussion on the Internet echoing suspicion over Singh's passing. Every social media platform was buzzing with condolences for the 'Kedarnath' actor.

Looking at the severity and sensitivity of the matter, several government agencies, including the Central Bureau of Investigation and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), launched separate investigations into Singh's sudden death.

The agencies have questioned several people in the matter so far, including Singh's girlfriend, actress Rhea Chakraborty, who was arrested on September 8 last year by NCB after three -days of questioning. She was later granted bail and walked out of the Byculla Jail in Mumbai on October 8.


A year later, even as the investigation into the actor's death continues, his fans and Bollywood stars, on Monday, took to social media to remember the 'Kai Po Che' actor.

Singh's 'Sonchiriya' co-star Bhumi Pednekar shared a few glimpses from the film's sets along with a heartfelt letter. The actress said that Singh showed her how to see the world, the way she had never seen before. "I hope you’ve found your peace my curious sweet SSR," Pednekar wrote.

Ankita Lokhande, SSR's 'Pavitra Rishta' co-star who also dated him for almost six years, returned Monday on Instagram after announcing a break from social media to pay tribute on the actor's first death anniversary.


She also shared a video showing preparations being done for a prayer. The video was posted on the actress's Instagram story.

Last month, Singh’s sister Shweta Singh Kirti on Twitter had announced that she is leaving for a solitary retreat for a whole month and won’t have access to internet or cell service. She said that her brother’s one year of passing would be spent cherishing his memories.

Film-maker Mukesh Chhabra, who was Singh's close friend and also directed him in his last film 'Dil Bechara', remembered him, saying that "nothing seems to be the same".

Singh made his Bollywood debut with Abhishek Kapoor's 'Kai Po Che' in 2013 and later reunited for 2018 film 'Kedarnath' which also starred Sara Ali Khan. The film-maker Abhishek Kapoor remembered Singh and shared the actor's picture with caption: "Still numb".


Shekhar Suman remembered the late actor as a "courageous and an extremely talented loving caring man."




Demandinding justice for Singh, Suman questioned "why there is no closure" in the case?

TV actor Siddharth Gupta shared a video with footage showing some fun and unseen moments of Singh. "Living the lesson you taught through your way of life is probably the best way to honor you my angel brother," Gupta wrote in the caption.


Actor Pulkit Samrat in an Instagram post shared a note saying that the world lost Singh but he still exists as an inspiration to those who dare to dream big.


The actor’s co-star Kriti Sanon shared BTS from ‘Raabta’ on Wednesday as the film completed five years. She said that the film was one of the “best and most memorable experiences and it will always remain extremely close” to her.

Whereas the 'Chchicchore' star's fans flooded Twitter with tributes, old pictures and throwback video clips of the late actor, making him a trending name on the micro-blogging site. Sharing the actor's pictures, his fans penned heartfelt notes on his one year death anniversary.
