YOLO: Young millennials save time & money, take frequent micro-breaks

The YOLO attitude millennials live their lives by is clearly dictating their travel plans as well. A recent survey indicated that people in the 25-35 age bracket are opting for shorter vacations, known as micro-breaks.

The young travellers have prioritised the need to travel, and in order to save time and money while doing so, are choosing more frequent trips of shorter durations.

And where are they going? The top destinations include Singapore, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, France, Hong Kong, Britain, Orlando (USA), New Zealand, Seychelles, etc. But while the duration might be curtailed, the activities are full-throttle, the survey finds.


So the youngsters are opting for white/black water rafting (New Zealand), scuba diving (Andamans/ Malaysia), snorkelling (Iceland), alpine treks/glacier climbs (Switzerland/Germany/Canada/Scandinavia), sky diving/bungee jumping (Australia, New Zealand, South Africa) among others.

Even domestic travel has seen a 33 per cent jump in these micro-breaks, the survey finds. The top domestic destinations include Goa, Kerala, Andamans, Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim, etc.
