Xiaomi unveils Mi A2, Mi A2 Lite with stellar camera, Android 8.1 Oreo

Chinese tech giant, Xiaomi launched the Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite at a global event in Spain.

The two smartphones come with dual real camera setups. Unlike other Xiaomi phones which run on MIUI, these two devices run on stock Anroid 8.1 Oreo.




The Mi A2 is the successor of the Mi A1 smartphone launched last year in India as the first Android One smartphone from Xiaomi.



Xiaomi Mi A2 specifications:

- 5.99-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass for protection
- Dual-SIM (Nano) smartphone will run pure Android 8.1 Oreo
- Powered by octa-core Snapdragon 660 SoC and Adreno 512 GPU
- 6GB LPDDR4x dual channel RAM and up to 128GB internal storage options
- Cameras feature AI integration for improved photos
- Face Unlock functionality, with fingerprint sensor on the back
- AI Portrait Mode on both front and rear cameras
- 3010mAh battery capacity
- Connectivity options on the Mi A2 are 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct, Miracast, Bluetooth 5.0, IR emitter, USB Type-C port



Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite specifications:

- 5.84-inch full-HD+ (1080x2280 pixels) display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and a notch
- Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, paired with 3GB or 4GB of RAM option
- 12-megapixel primary sensor (1.25-micron pixels), complete with PDAF, and a 5-megapixel secondary camera
- Rear fingerprint sensor
- It is powered with a 4000mAh battery
- Connectivity options such as 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack, and Micro-USB
