Xiaomi Redmi Note 7, Note 7 Pro with 48MP camera launched in India; priced at Rs 9,999 onwards

The two devices are similar in all aspects except the hardware.

Redmi Note 7 Pro: First Impressions & Camera Samples
In 2018, Xiaomi India announced that Redmi will become a stand alone brand going forward and now the first phones under this brand have been launched. Since the Redmi Note series has been one of the primary drivers in Xiaomi India's success, it is no surprise that the new device are the Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro.

The two devices are similar in all aspects except the hardware. While the Note 7 is powered by a Snapdragon 660, the Redmi Note 7 Pro comes with a Snapdragon 675 processor that has Adreno 612 GPU. Also, the Note 7 comes in configuration option of 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage. The Redmi Note 7 Pro will be available with 4GB or 6GB RAM and for storage you can opt for 64GB or 128GB. Both phones come with a 4,000mAh battery with support for Quick Charge.

Camera is the big highlight on the Note 7 Pro: there is a 48MP camera with f1.79 aperture + 5MP f2.4 depth sensor on the rear. The camera uses pixel binning to deliver 12MP resolution images and comes loaded with various software features including a Steady handheld night shooting mode for low light, AI scene detection and AI portrait mode. In comparison the Redmi Note 7 has a 12MP + 2MP front camera. On the front, both phones s have a 13MP selfie shooter with AI portrait Selfie, beautify, scene detection and studio lighting selfie mode.

The Find X was launched just a few weeks ago and India is expected to be amongst the first lot of countries to get it. The Find X has a beautiful glass body with a motorized camera module. The front has a 6.4-inch curved Amoled display (without a notch) giving it a screento-body ratio of 93%. Inside is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 8GB RAM, 128/256GB storage and a 3,730mAh battery. The motorized camera module hides a 16MP + 20MP dual rear camera and a 25MP front camera. The company has announced the Mi 8 in China as their new flagship and it is expected that the phone will launch in India this month. The Mi 8 features a notched 6.2-inch amoled display in 19:9 aspect ratio and a 7000 series aluminium frame. It comes with an 3D Face unlock similar to the iPhone X (with infrared), rear fingerprint scanner, dual SIM support and runs the latest MiUI 10 based on Android 8.1. Motorola’s E range of smartphones have always focussed on the budget conscious buyers. The upcoming smartphone in the range, Moto E5 Plus, features a 6-inch 18:9 aspect display with a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels and weight of 197 grams. The phones have Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back for protection. Redmi Note 7 Pro is for Rs 13,999 (4GB + 64GB) and Rs 16,999 (6GB + 128GB). Price includes a back cover and 10W charger. Consumers will get special offer from Airtel - 1120GB 4G data with unlimited calling. Sale for Redmi Note 7 starts from 6th March while the Redmi Note 7 Pro will go on sale from 13th March 2019.
