Women as employable as men, says NR Narayana Murthy

Recently, Infosys cofounder NR Narayana Murthy interacted with students of Mumbai's St. Xaviers College as part of their annual fest, Malhar. One student asked him about his views on the state of employment of women in India.

Murthy gave an answer based on his experience.

"They are as employable as men," he said. "In some ways, women are even more employable because by and large, they are more disciplined, they respect the protocol better."

Murthy added, "At one time I had four women reporting to me and I asked one of them what her biggest challenge was. She said it was dealing with other women." The audience burst into laughter.
