Who carries a notebook these days? With smartphones and apps like Notes accessible at your fingertips, carrying a notebook gives off a bit of a fuddy-duddy image.

However, William Penn wants to bring the notebook back in vogue by giving it a tech twist. With its Superbook, the company has packed in a host of features that may appeal to the millennial.

You can connect phones with any port.

The pretentiously named Superbook has a lot going for it. For starters, it has a wireless 8000mAh power bank, which can be used to charge your phone. The feature though is restrictive as only premium devices like the iPhone 11 and Galaxy Note 10 support wireless charging. We tried charging an iPhone 11 Pro Max with the Superbook and it did a fine job. Not that William Penn has ignored owners of less fancy phones. But they will have to pay extra for Pennline wireless charging receivers (available for micro-USB, type-C and lightning port connectors).

The Superbook scores high on utility as it also packs in a tangle-free three-in-one charging cable. This means you can connect phones with any port.

There is also a 16 GB pen drive that is neatly encompassed on the flap of the Superbook. There is also an adjustable elastic mobile holder, where you can place your phone and watch multimedia content. You also get a pop-up charging port to power up your smartphone in case of low battery.

And of course, a 192-page notebook forms the bedrock of all the tech essentials.

The Superbook is easy to carry. You can just put your phone on the wireless pad and let it charge — at a reasonably fast speed.

The Superbook costs Rs 7,500, which is high, but the company seems to be betting on the utility factor -- a one-stop solution for those who carry a power bank, a pen drive, and several cables.

A successor to the existing Qoobo robot cat, Petit Qoobo is a circular furry cushion with a tail and nothing more. It is designed for seniors in nursing homes or for people who want to own a pet but can’t do so because of pet allergies. When caressed, the therapeutic robot waves gently. When rubbed, it swings playfully. And it occasionally wags just to say hello. It’s a comforting communication, which, the company says, warms your heart the way animals do.
