Will Redmi Go be the cheapest smartphone from Xiaomi?

Xiaomi is all set to unveil the company's first smartphone to run on Android Go platform.

The Chinese tech giant is set to launch the phone in an event today. It is however, still to be seen if this is the cheapest smartphone from Xiaomi. The company will be holding an event in New Delhi, which will kick off at 12 noon. The event will be live-streamed on the company’s YouTube channel as well as on Twitter.




Currently, the Redmi 6A is the cheapest phone from Xiaomi which is priced at Rs 5,999. It is not clear whether the Redmi Go will hit the sub-Rs 5,000 price segment.

The smartphone is likely to feature a smaller 5-inch display and use Snapdragon 425 mobile platform. It is also tipped to feature an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera.
