Heeseung had been one of the most recognisable faces of ENHYPEN since the group debuted in 2020. Over the past few years, the seven-member band built a massive global following with chart-topping songs, world tours and a strong online fan base. With his departure, the group will now continue its activities as a six-member unit.
The update was confirmed by the group’s agency, BELIFT LAB.
Why did Heeseung leave ENHYPEN?
According to the agency, Heeseung decided to leave the group to explore his own musical path. The company explained that the decision was made after detailed discussions among the singer, management, and other group members.BELIFT LAB said that Heeseung wanted to pursue a musical style that was different from the direction ENHYPEN is currently taking as a group. Because of this difference in artistic vision, both sides agreed that it would be better for him to focus on his solo journey.
However, the singer is not leaving the company altogether. The label confirmed that Heeseung will remain signed with BELIFT LAB and will start working on his own solo music, including preparations for an upcoming album. In a handwritten letter addressed to fans, Heeseung looked back at his years with the group. He said the past six years with ENHYPEN had been meaningful and unforgettable for him. The singer also shared that he had been quietly working on personal music projects for some time, but did not want those ambitions to affect the group’s activities.
