One Piece Season 2 ending explained: Who is Mr Zero and Luffy’s connection to Gol D. Roger? Episodes, India release time and Season 3 update

The wait is finally over as One Piece Season 2 premiered on OTT on March 10. The Straw Hat Pirates return with a brand-new adventure as they begin their journey toward the dangerous Grand Line. This time, Monkey D. Luffy and his crew, Roronoa Zoro, Nami, Usopp, and Sanji, move one step closer to their ultimate goal of finding the legendary treasure known as the One Piece. However, the new season is not just about treasure hunting. As the story goes forward, the Straw Hats encounter powerful enemies, make new allies and uncover mysteries that hint at a much larger conflict waiting ahead.

All you need to know about One Piece Season 2

The live-action show is currently streaming in India on Netflix along with all eight episodes. During their voyage, the crew meets Nefertari Vivi, the princess of Alabasta, who initially hides her true identity. She first appears under the name Miss Wednesday, working as part of the secretive Baroque Works organisation. Later, Vivi reveals that she joined the group undercover to uncover the truth behind a dangerous plot threatening her kingdom.



As the story progresses, Vivi becomes an important ally to the Straw Hats. According to co-showrunner Joe Tracz, the crew may begin the season focused on their personal dreams, but their priorities gradually change as they discover the larger dangers in the world. By the end of the season, their mission shifts toward helping Vivi protect Alabasta.

Another major addition to the team is Tony Tony Chopper, a reindeer-human hybrid who dreams of becoming a great doctor. After facing loneliness for much of his life, Chopper eventually accepts Luffy’s invitation to join the crew. Tracz explained that the character has always struggled with feeling different, but the Straw Hats become the family he never expected to find.

Battle on Drum Island

One of the biggest conflicts in Season 2 takes place on Drum Island. Here, the Straw Hats confront the tyrannical ruler Wapol, who possesses the strange powers of the Munch-Munch Fruit. The ability allows him to consume almost anything and turn it into powerful weapons.

With support from Vivi, Chopper and the island’s residents, the Straw Hats manage to defeat Wapol and free the kingdom from his rule. The victory also strengthens the bond between the crew and their new allies.

Who is Mr Zero?

While the crew deals with threats on their journey, another dangerous figure is secretly pulling the strings. The mysterious Baroque Works leader known as Mr. 0 is eventually revealed to be Sir Crocodile, one of the feared Seven Warlords of the Sea. His organisation is responsible for stirring unrest in Alabasta.

Meanwhile, Mr. 0’s trusted partner, Miss All Sunday, is revealed to be Nico Robin, a character whose past remains largely unknown but is expected to play a major role later.

Luffy’s link to Gol D. Roger and Season 3 update

The finale also drops an intriguing hint about Luffy’s connection to Gol D. Roger, the legendary Pirate King. Characters in the show note the similarities between the two, particularly the mysterious “Will of D,” suggesting that Luffy’s destiny may be tied to Roger’s legacy.

The story is far from over. Netflix has already confirmed that the series will return for Season 3, where the Straw Hats are expected to travel to Alabasta and face even bigger enemies. The upcoming season will also introduce new characters, including Portgas D. Ace, setting the stage for the next chapter of the adventure.
