Here's some news for iPhone owners who use WhatsApp for messaging and communication. The Meta-owned platform has decided to drop support for iOS 10 and iOS 11.

By leaving iPhones with the older iOS versions, WhatsApp will be discontinuing its support for devices such as iPhone 5, iPhone 5c. Now this has given iPhone users another reason to upgrade their Apple device.


What This Means?
WhatsApp no longer supporting the older iOS upgrades means that you will not receive new updates, bugs fixes, security improvements. In order for you to access WhatsApp and make the most of its latest updates, you will need to move to a new iOS.

According to a leaked screenshot shared on Twitter, WhatsApp will stop supporting iOS 10 and iOS 11 from October 24.

iPhones That Need To Go

If you own an iPhone 5 or iPhone 5c, you will need to update to another phone or an iPhone with updated iOS or at last iOS 12.

However, if you own an iPhone 5s or a later model by Apple, you can simply update your device to iOS 12 and continue using WhatsApp.
