WFH helped WebEngage co-founder return to hobbies, but he misses the pre-pandemic team hangouts
Avlesh Singh misses travelling and his spa days.

But it’s not just recreational travel the co-founder misses, not being with his team has also been a big challenge for him. In fact, he credits his team for showing him some of his favourite places to hang out. “I have a whole bunch of favorites in Mumbai and Bengaluru. I discovered most of those via my team. Social has been a go-to place for the team hangouts so hopefully, we can do that soon,” he shares.
When it comes to unwinding something Singh has had to forgo are his spa days. “I can’t wait to have a day at the spa to help the running mind,” he says. But, when it comes to shopping, he feels there’s nothing the offline world has over online. “My life essentials are pretty much sorted among Amazon, Myntra, and Flipkart,” he says.
While Singh has not really updated his tech while working from home, he has changed the look of his physical space. “My home office setup got a full makeover to keep up the look and feel of the office,” he says. Singh says that he starts his day early and tries to finish the day on time, leaving a lot of time for him to enjoy an evening walk.
“When I used to go to work, it was almost impossible for me to stay consistent with my walks,” he says. Another hobby he has made time for is reading. And Singh recommends one book wholeheartedly. “Everyone should read 'The Hard Thing about Hard Things' by Ben Horowitz.”
