Warren Buffett's diet has shocked people often
Warren Buffett is over 96 years old. Yet, if Bill Ackman is to be believed, he has not touched a drop of water since the 1970s. The former CEO of Berkshire Hathaway told fellow billionaire Ackman that he had not drunk water for over five decades. In an episode of the podcast Equity Mates Investing, Ackman reminisced about how years ago, during dinner, he had asked Buffett if he would like still or sparkling water. Buffett had opted for his favourite soda- a can of Coke. (The billionaire is said to drink five cans of Coke per day. Ackman stated, "And he said, 'Bill, I haven't had water in 48 years.'"

Buffett once admitted his addiction – not to alcohol but to Coca-Cola. He revealed in 2015 that he was “one quarter Coca-Cola", and it accounted for 25 percent of his daily calorie intake.

More About The Billionaire's Diet

The billionaire also admitted that, like many Americans, his diet is chock-full of fast food – such as McDonald’s burgers, hot dogs, fries, popcorn, cookies, candy, ice cream, etc.

The billionaire had often confessed to his addiction to fast food. In the HBO documentary Becoming Warren Buffett, he said, “When I’m not feeling quite so prosperous, I might go with the $2.61, which is two sausage patties, and then I put them together and pour myself a Coke. $3.17 is a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit, but the market’s down this morning, so I’ll pass up the $3.17 and go with the $2.95.”

In his biography, The Snowball: Warren Buffett and the Business of Life, it is revealed that Buffett ate a chilli cheese dog and an ice cream sundae with cherry syrup and chopped nuts.

In a chat with Fortune, the billionaire revealed why he was so addicted to fast food. He was just really inspired by toddlers.

“I checked the actuarial tables, and the lowest death rate is among 6-year-olds, so I decided to eat like a 6-year-old," he said.

A Refusal To Eat Healthy

The entrepreneur told CNBC, “If somebody told me I would live an extra year if I ate nothing but broccoli and a few other things all my life instead of eating what I like, I would say, 'Take a year off the end of my life and let me eat what I like to eat,'" he said.

No Gym

In a chat with Business Standard, Buffett is no gym addict. At an annual shareholder meeting, he said he and his late business partner, Charlie Munger, did not exercise much. He also cited how athletes are vulnerable to the dangers of excessive exercise and did not join baseball or basketball teams.
