Vijay's 'Beast' is here - and Chennai IT cos can't keep calm! Tech firms announce holiday, free movie tickets for staff

Tamil superstar Vijay starrer ‘Beast’ arrives in theatres today. The film starring Ilayathalapathy has created a fan frenzy across Tamil Nadu. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the film will see Vijay in an action avatar.

The superstar was last seen in the 2021 action film ‘Master’ where he co-starred with Vijay Sethupathi. The film's trailer has kept the buzz surrounding it high. Along with the trailer, songs from the movie too are gaining thousands of views by the minute on YouTube and social media.

Companies announcing holidays and half-days on the release of Rajnikanth films is the norm. However, lately owing to the soaring popularity of Vijay, companies have started giving offs and other perks to their employees to watch the movies of Illayathalapathy. Ahead of the release, Chennai based IT companies, Aaraa Infomatics and KnitBrain, have made arrangements for their employees who are ardent Vijay fans.

Aaraa Informatics released its notice on social media announcing an official leave on the release of ‘Beast’. The company in its measure to counter piracy has also announced that it will provide free tickets of the movie to its employees.

“Due to the worldwide release of Thalapathy Vijay's movie 'Beast', We have decided to declare an official holiday on 13th April 2022 to avoid piled up leave requests to the HR department. We are taking this opportunity to support anti-piracy by providing free tickets to Aaraa Infomatics Employees,” read the notice by the company.

On the other hand, KnitBrain International too issued a similar notice. “On account of the release of Thalapathy Vijay's movie 'Beast' we have decided to declare a holiday on the 13th April 2022 in efforts to avoid piled up leave requests to the HR department. We also take the privilege of going the extra mile to support antipiracy by providing free tickets to the KnitBrain International Employees,” read the IT company’s note.

‘Beast’ directed by Nelson Dilipkumar also stars Pooja Hegde. The film is set inside a mall where terrorists take locals as hostages. Vijay’s high-octane action film will see him fighting terrorists in slick stunt sequences.
After the film’s trailer was released, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan praised it saying that he was a huge fan of superstar Vijay. "Sitting with Atlee, who is as big a fan of Vijay as I am. Wishing the best for Beast to the whole team...trailer looks meaner.... Leaner... stronger," read SRK's tweet.
The action film which has been made on a Rs 150-crore budget has been released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi versions. Even before its release, the movie’s songs composed by Anirudh became chartbusters.
