Vanity Fair mag finds its new cover girl in Priyanka Chopra who spills the beans on her 2022 goals - it involves reinvention

Priyanka Chopra Jonas has done it again, added another major achievement to her list. The actress, a global star, is the new cover girl of international magazine Vanity Fair for their February 2022 edition.

After a journey into The Matrix, the actor enters 2022 with her cup overflowing—reflecting on her storied Hindi film industry career, marriage, and creating a path for herself in Hollywood," it tweeted.

In her interview, the actress reflected on her long journey in the film industry, her marriage to singer Nick Jonas, criticism and also what 2022 holds for her.

"I feel like I am at a precipice of reinvention," PeeCee tells Vanity Fair.

Chopra reveals that as much as she is excited about the future, she is also terrified of it.

"What is the new me? I’m very excited about the future. I’m terrified of it too. Change is always scary. But I’ve done it multiple times in my life,” she says.

However, PeeCee, who has always been a workaholic, wants some down time and is craving a balance and family life.

The actress doesn't want to spend all her 2022 jumping from one project to another.

“I’ve always been such a worker bee,” Chopra tells the magazine. “My priority has always been the next job. I’m a very, very ambitious person. But I think the woman in me is craving balance. I’m craving my family life. I’m craving being able to do things for the soul that I didn’t do because I was just ‘blinders on’ and working,” she says.

So does it mean that her 2022 also includes extending her family with husband Nick Jonas?

“They’re a big part of our desire for the future,” says Chopra, when asked about if her mother hopes for a grandchild. “By God’s grace, when it happens, it happens.”

The actress has a busy career. After all, both her work in Indian cinema and outside bears witness to that. But despite having over 100 films under her name, the actress still gets questioned for being "worthy" of the fame that surrounds her. But thanks to her fierce personality, she has always shut down the naysayers.

For instance, the journalist in March 2021 who questioned why PeeCee, along with Jonas, was hosting Oscar nominations announcement.

An Australian journalist had tweeted, “No disrespect to these two but I’m not sure their contribution to the movies qualifies them to be announcing Oscar nominees.”

His tweet earned a respond from the lady herself, along with the wrath from netizens on social media. “Would love your thoughts on what qualifies someone. Here are my 60+ film credentials for your adept consideration,” Chopra had tweeted, including a link to her IMDB page.

Recalling the incident, PeeCee now told Vanity Fair that it was unusual of her. “I usually don’t get mad, but that just pissed me off,” she says, adding that after years in Hollywood, now being dismissed can "sting".

“I’ll be mad, I’ll be angry, I’ll be annoyed,” Priyanka says. “I’ll speak about it to my family. I might cry a little bit, but it doesn’t change my relationship with my work and what my actual quest is. My quest is not people’s opinions. My quest is my job. My quest is making sure that when someone watches something that I have done, it moves them or they enjoy it. My personal life, who I am, all of that is not my job,” she says.
