Vadh 2 OTT release date details: When and where to watch the suspense-drama starring Neena Gupta and Sanjay Mishra

The crime drama Vadh 2 is now heading to OTT after its run in theatres earlier this year. The film, which features Sanjay Mishra and Neena Gupta in lead roles, had quietly built an audience during its theatrical phase, especially among viewers who prefer slow-paced suspense stories. Now, the makers have locked its digital release, and it is not too far away.

When and where to watch Vadh 2

According to OTTplay, Vadh 2 will start streaming on Netflix from April 3, 2026. The platform has acquired the digital rights following the film’s theatrical performance.

The movie originally released in cinemas on February 6, 2026. This OTT release comes roughly in line with the usual eight-week window that many Hindi films follow before moving online. Reports from OTTplay have also mentioned that the platform picked up the film after it performed steadily in theatres, particularly in metro cities.


Even though the title suggests a continuation, Vadh 2 is not a direct sequel to the 2022 film Vadh. It is more of a spiritual follow-up. The story stands on its own, so even those who have not watched the first film can still follow this one without confusion.

At the same time, it carries forward similar themes. There is again a focus on morality, guilt, and how people deal with difficult choices in extreme situations.

Story set inside a prison

The film is set inside a prison in Madhya Pradesh. Sanjay Mishra plays Shambhunath Mishra, a low-ranking prison guard who is close to retirement. His life is simple, and he tries to make ends meet by quietly selling vegetables grown inside the prison.

Neena Gupta plays Manju, a prisoner who has spent 28 years behind bars for a double murder. She maintains that she did not commit the crime. Over time, a quiet and somewhat emotional bond develops between the two.

Things change when a dangerous inmate named Keshav suddenly goes missing. He is not just any prisoner but someone with political connections. This incident shakes the system inside the jail.

An investigation begins, led by Inspector Ateet Singh, played by Amitt K. Singh. As the inquiry moves forward, it starts revealing hidden tensions, corruption, and personal grudges within the prison.

Cast and crew

Apart from Sanjay Mishra and Neena Gupta, the film also features Kumud Mishra, Amitt K. Singh, Yogita Bihani, Akshay Dogra, and Shilpa Shukla in key roles.

The film is directed by Jaspal Singh Sandhu, who has also written the story. The cinematography is handled by Sapan Narula, while the background score is composed by Advait Nemlekar. Both elements have been noted for adding to the tense and closed environment of the prison setting.
