Dhurandhar 2 OTT release update: Ranveer Singh's blockbuster spy action movie to stream on new platform. When and where to watch
The buzz around Dhurandhar: The Revenge continues as audiences eagerly await its OTT release. The film will stream on a new OTT platform, unlike the first part which released on Netflix. While no official date has been announced, it is expected to...

Dhurandhar 2 OTT platform confirmed
One thing is clear now. The sequel is not going to follow the same digital path as the first film. While Dhurandhar premiered on Netflix earlier this year, the second part has shifted platforms.Dhurandhar: The Revenge will stream on JioHotstar. This was not kept hidden either, as the platform’s name appears in the film’s opening credits itself. Reports suggest that the streaming rights were picked up in a deal worth around ₹150 crore, which is said to be nearly double what the first film earned digitally.
There is still no official confirmation from the makers or the platform about the exact release date. That said, industry patterns and multiple reports give a fair idea.
Most theatrical films arrive on OTT within six to eight weeks. Since Dhurandhar 2 hit cinemas on March 19, 2026, the expected streaming window falls somewhere between early May and mid-June.
Box office performance keeps OTT plans flexible
The reason for this uncertainty is the film’s strong theatrical run. Dhurandhar 2 opened with a massive ₹102.55 crore on day one and has continued to collect heavily since then. Domestic numbers have already crossed ₹300 crore, while worldwide earnings have comfortably gone beyond ₹500 crore, with some reports even suggesting a much faster climb.Because of this momentum, the makers may choose to extend the theatrical window to maximise revenue before moving to OTT.
What the story explores in the sequel
The sequel picks up after the events of the first film. It focuses on Hamza, played by Ranveer Singh, who rises within the underworld setup in Karachi after eliminating a major threat. From there, the story expands into a larger mission involving bigger targets and deeper networks. At the same time, the film also goes back in time to show how Jaskirat Singh Rangi turned into Hamza Ali Mazari. This transformation and his entry into covert operations form a major part of the narrative.
Director Aditya Dhar also made a request to audiences during the film’s release phase. In an Instagram post, he urged viewers not to reveal spoilers publicly, asking them to let others experience the story on their own terms and keep the surprise intact.
There has also been strong conversation around the film’s scale and records in its initial run. Trade trackers noted that Dhurandhar: The Revenge delivered one of the biggest extended opening weekends for a Hindi film, with reports suggesting it crossed several benchmarks within just a few days of release.
Its performance during the Eid period also stood out, as the film reportedly outpaced earlier festive releases by a wide margin. Alongside its domestic run, the film has seen steady traction in overseas markets, particularly in North America, adding significantly to its global total.
