Mardaani 3 OTT release date and platform
As per OTTPlay, the film will start streaming on Netflix from March 27, 2026. This comes roughly eight weeks after its theatrical release on January 30, which follows the usual release pattern many films are opting for these days. The digital release is expected to reach a wider audience, especially those who either skipped the theatre run or prefer watching such intense films at home. The film will be available in Hindi, along with multiple dubbed versions and subtitles to cater to international viewers.
Box office performance and theatrical run
Despite facing competition from Border 2, Mardaani 3 managed to hold its ground. Trade reports suggest the film earned around ₹75 crore globally, with domestic net collections close to ₹60 crore. Some estimates even put the worldwide figure slightly higher, around ₹78 crore. The film had a decent start at the box office and continued to perform steadily through February. It may not have been the biggest blockbuster of the year, but it still ended up among the better-performing Hindi films of 2026.
The makers had also preponed the release from February to January to take advantage of a relatively open window at the box office, which seems to have worked in their favour.
Story: A darker and more intense chapter
Directed by Abhiraj Minawala, the film takes a more serious and procedural approach compared to earlier parts. It follows SSP Shivani Shivaji Roy, played by Rani Mukerji, as she investigates the disappearance of 93 young girls. As the case unfolds, it leads her into a disturbing network involving a beggar mafia and illegal medical experiments. The plot gradually expands beyond India, with parts of the investigation stretching to Sri Lanka, adding a larger scale to the narrative.
This instalment is being described as the darkest chapter in the franchise so far, both in terms of subject and treatment.
Cast and characters
