Ustaad Bhagat Singh OTT release date update: When and where to watch Pawan Kalyan starrer Telugu movie

The wait for the digital release of Ustaad Bhagat Singh is now almost over. After its theatrical run earlier this month, the film is getting ready for its OTT premiere. The action entertainer, starring Pawan Kalyan, had opened with decent buzz but could not sustain momentum at the box office. Now, attention has shifted to how it performs on streaming.

The film will stream on Netflix from April 23, 2026, as per Track Kollywood. The platform had secured the digital rights much before the theatrical release itself, so the OTT plan was already in place.

There was some confusion earlier about whether the film would arrive on April 16, 17 or even April 24. But the latest update points clearly towards April 23 as the final date.



The reason behind this timing is simple. The makers had agreed to a fixed theatrical window. As per producer Naveen Yerneni, the film would follow a five-week gap before coming online. Even when the theatrical release was preponed from March 26 to March 19, the OTT schedule was not changed. That is why the film is landing a bit later than the usual four-week window followed by many South films.

Ustaad Bhagat Singh, directed by Harish Shankar, released during the Ugadi weekend on March 19, 2026. It opened to decent occupancy, but the run slowed down quickly.

Trade reports suggest the film collected around ₹70 crore net, which is seen as underwhelming considering expectations around a Pawan Kalyan film. One of the big reasons was competition from Dhurandhar 2, which turned into a major blockbuster and dominated screens. The rival film reportedly crossed ₹1,200 crore globally and even outperformed Baahubali 2 in North America, pushing Ustaad Bhagat Singh out of several theatres.

Cast and film story

The film is produced by Naveen Yerneni under Mythri Movie Makers and features Sreeleela and Raashii Khanna as the female leads. Tamil actor R. Parthiban plays the antagonist.

It is a commercial action entertainer with a mix of action, emotion and political backdrop. The story follows Bhagat Singh, an orphan who grows up fighting injustice and corruption, eventually becoming a police officer and taking on powerful rivals. The narrative also brings in themes of revenge, patriotism and personal relationships.

While the film received mixed feedback, some parts did stand out. Fans appreciated Pawan Kalyan’s screen presence, his dialogue delivery and the overall mass appeal. The action blocks and certain high-energy moments were seen as highlights.
