'Two Legends.' John Cena posts MS Dhoni pic on Instagram, sends fans into a tizzy

John Cena is a man of few words, at least on social media. On Saturday, the WWE star lived up to his reputation as he shared a picture of former India skipper MS Dhoni on his official Instagram handle.

The uncaptioned picture posted by Cena shows Dhoni snapped while walking down a stairway with an outstretched arm, presumably to shake his hands with someone. And fans - including Cena's and Captain Cool's - were quick to give their interpretation. Many joked that Dhoni was shaking hands with the WWE star, a reference to Cena's "you can't see me" catchphrase.


This catchphrase of Cena's is often used by fans to trigger meme-fests and jokes. On this post, the fans went wild, from "Two legends in one frame," to "Nothing, just two legends shaking hands".

And a true-blue Chennai Super Kings fan captioned it as "When Thala Meets Cena". The comment itself had over 4K Likes. On October 15, Dhoni led the Chennai Super Kings to their fourth IPL title as the team overcame the Kolkata Knight Riders in the final in the UAE.

So far, Cena's post has seen over 1.3mn Likes, and 30K comments. Cena, who hasn't been making frequent appearances in the WWE ring in recent times and embarked on a career in Hollywood, has shown his love for India and Indians in the past.

Earlier, he posted a picture of Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli on the eve of the finals of the World Test Championship final where India took on New Zealand. The 44-year-old Cena had also posted pictures of actor Amitabh Bachchan and his son Abhishek last year when they were diagnosed with Covid-19.
