Twinkle Khanna can't get enough of her onion earrings; gives hubby Akshay 'best present award'

Sky-rocketing onion prices have made the vegetable, once considered basic, a luxury. Memes mocking the vegetable have been floating on social media, in addition to the debates that have surrounded the soaring prices. And now, the vegetable seems to have turned into jewellery for actress-turned-author Twinkle Khanna.
Khanna, popularly known as Mrs Funny Bones, on Thursday, took to Instagram to flaunt a pair of ‘onion earrings’ gifted to her by actor-husband Akshay Kumar.
The 52-year-old actor, who was on 'The Kapil Sharma Show' for the promotion of his upcoming film 'Good Newwz', found the earrings on the set of the show. Designed for his co-star Kareena Kapoor Khan by the comedians behind the show, the earrings eventually made their way to Khanna, as Kumar said ‘Kareena didn’t look too impressed’ by them.
The 45-year-old author posted a picture of her ‘new piece of ‘jewellery’, and said that her husband thought she would enjoy them, hence brought the earrings home.
The 'Jodi No 1' actress was left impressed by the gesture, as she decided to give Kumar the give the 'Best Present Award' in her Instagram caption.
"My partner returns from performing at the Kapil Sharma show and says, ‘They were showing this to Kareena, I don’t think she was too impressed, but I knew you would enjoy them so I got them for you.’ Sometimes it’s the smallest things, the silliest things that can touch your heart. #onionearrings #bestpresentaward," she wrote alongside a picture of the earrings.
Earlier, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s comment on onions in Parliament had also gone viral on social media.
