Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups is showing signs of slowing down at the Indian box office after a strong start. The Yash-led action drama has managed to stay on course for a major worldwide milestone, but its day-wise collections have been falling steadily. On Day 5, the film recorded its lowest collection since release, even as its total worldwide earnings moved closer to the Rs 300 crore mark.

Toxic box office collection day-wise

According to Sacnilk.com, Toxic collected Rs 23 crore net in India on Day 5 from 16,241 shows. The film had collected more on the previous day, meaning its Sunday business dropped by around 8.5 per cent. Despite the dip, the Geetu Mohandas directorial has already crossed Rs 200 crore in India net collections. Its India net total currently stands at Rs 214.10 crore, while the India gross collection has reached Rs 255.95 crore.

While the domestic numbers have begun to soften, Toxic continues to benefit from its overseas business. The film earned another Rs 2 crore from international markets on Day 5, taking its overseas gross collection to Rs 29.25 crore.

With this addition, the film's worldwide gross has climbed to Rs 285.20 crore. It now needs less than Rs 15 crore to cross the Rs 300 crore worldwide milestone. Whether it can reach the mark quickly will depend on how strongly it holds during the next few days.

The film recorded an overall occupancy of 25.2 per cent on Day 5 in India. The Kannada version had the strongest occupancy among the major language editions, suggesting that the film's home market continues to show relatively stronger audience interest.

Hindi version leads Day 5 collections

However, the Hindi version continued to be the biggest contributor to Toxic's India net collection on Day 5. The Hindi edition earned Rs 14.50 crore from 11,734 shows, making up a substantial portion of the day's domestic business.

The Hindi version had an overall occupancy of 29.97 per cent. Its morning shows recorded 18.38 per cent occupancy, which increased to 35.46 per cent in the afternoon and 36.08 per cent in the evening.

The Telugu version contributed Rs 1.40 crore from 1,541 shows, with an overall occupancy of 21.04 per cent. Its morning occupancy was 17.77 per cent, while afternoon and evening shows recorded 21.62 per cent and 22 per cent, respectively.
