Toxic box office collection day 4: Yash's Kannada gangster movie enters Rs 250 crore movie worldwide amid mixed reviews

Yash’s much-awaited Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups has crossed another major milestone at the worldwide box office. However, the film’s daily collections have continued to fall after its massive opening. The Geetu Mohandas directorial, which arrived in theatres amid mixed reviews, has now entered the Rs 250 crore club globally. The big question is whether the film can regain momentum over the weekend and turn its strong opening into a sustained theatrical run.

According to Sacnilk.com, Toxic earned an estimated Rs 24.50 crore net in India on Day 4. The film was screened across 17,612 shows on Saturday, with its latest collection taking its total India net earnings to Rs 190.45 crore.

The film had a blockbuster start on its opening day, collecting an estimated Rs 101.10 crore net in India. However, its earnings dropped sharply on the following days. It made around Rs 37.65 crore on Day 2 before collecting Rs 26.60 crore on Day 3. With another Rs 24.50 crore on Day 4, the film has seen a steady decline in its daily business.


Despite the drop, Toxic has maintained a sizeable theatrical total within its first four days. Its India gross collection currently stands at Rs 227.50 crore, according to the latest estimates.

The film’s performance is particularly notable because it managed to attract a large audience on its first day despite the mixed response. Its opening-day collection also reportedly went past the Day 1 figure of Dhurandhar Part 1, adding to the commercial significance of Yash’s return to the big screen.

Toxic crosses Rs 250 crore worldwide

The film has also performed well in international markets. Toxic earned an estimated Rs 4 crore gross overseas on Day 4, taking its overseas total to Rs 27.25 crore.

Combining its India and overseas earnings, the movie has now recorded an estimated Rs 254.75 crore worldwide after four days. This means the Yash-starrer has comfortably crossed the Rs 250 crore mark globally during its opening weekend.

The milestone gives the film some breathing room despite the fall in its daily India collections. However, the next few days remain important. A strong Saturday and Sunday could help the movie stabilise its earnings and maintain its momentum before the first weekday test arrives.

For a film that opened with more than Rs 100 crore net in India, maintaining audience interest beyond the opening day will be crucial. The weekend will therefore offer a clearer picture of whether Toxic can continue its strong theatrical run or experience a further slowdown.

Yash's Toxic: Cast, story and mixed reviews

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups features Yash in dual roles. The cast includes Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth in important roles.

The film is jointly produced by Venkat K Narayana and Yash, under KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations LLP, respectively.

Set in Goa during the Portuguese colonial period, the story follows a gangster and his rise and fall from power. The film combines crime, action and family drama against a period setting, giving Yash a very different world to explore after his hugely successful KGF franchise.

While the film has generated considerable interest among Yash’s fans, its critical and audience response has been mixed. That response could play an important role in determining how the film performs after its opening weekend.
