The game of trust, betrayal and secret alliances is back, and this time there are even more personalities inside the palace. The Traitors Season 2 brings together celebrities from films, television, music, comedy, food and the digital world, all competing in a game where knowing whom to trust could make the difference between winning and going home.

The second season will stream exclusively on Prime Video from August 13, 2026, with new episodes dropping every Thursday. Karan Johar returns as the host, while the new season features 21 celebrity contestants competing in the psychological reality game.

The Traitors Season 2: Release date, streaming platform and host

The Traitors Season 2 premieres on August 13 on Prime Video. Unlike shows that release an entire season at once, the reality series will follow a weekly release schedule, with fresh episodes arriving every Thursday.

Karan Johar is back as the host after leading the first season. His role is not just to introduce challenges and eliminations but also to guide viewers through a game where alliances can change quickly and nobody can be completely trusted.

The second season is being produced by Dharmatic Entertainment in association with All3Media International. The Indian series is based on the international The Traitors format, originally developed by IDTV. The format has received both BAFTA and Emmy recognition.

While the release date and weekly schedule have been announced, the exact streaming time and cash prize amount for the Indian Season 2 edition have not been specified in the information released so far. So viewers may have to wait for Prime Video or the makers to confirm those details.

Some names immediately stand out because of their previous experience with reality television. Munawar Faruqui, for instance, has already won Lock Upp and Bigg Boss 17, while Shweta Tiwari is a former Bigg Boss winner.

Abhishek Malhan, popularly known as Fukra Insaan, also comes into the game with reality-show experience after finishing as runner-up on Bigg Boss OTT 2.

The cast also includes people from very different professional backgrounds. Celebrity chef Ranveer Brar is trading the kitchen for a game of deception, while rapper Ikka will have to rely on strategy rather than music. Mentalist Karan Singh could have an interesting advantage in a competition built around reading people, while private detective Tanya Puri brings an investigative background to the palace.

Mallika Sherawat is another major addition to the line-up, while veteran actor Dalip Tahil brings decades of acting experience to a group that also includes younger digital creators.

What is The Traitors Season 2 about?

The basic rules remain centred on one question: who can you actually trust?

The contestants are divided into two groups, the Innocents and the Traitors. The Innocents must work together to identify the contestants secretly working as Traitors. At the same time, the Traitors have to remain undetected while eliminating their opponents and manipulating the group.

That makes every conversation important. A friendship could be a genuine alliance or a carefully planned strategy. A contestant who appears helpful could secretly be working against everyone else.

The second season was filmed at Suryagarh Palace in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, which once again provides the grand setting for the missions, secret meetings, eliminations and betrayals.

There is also a new addition to the show's presentation this season. A character named Boo has been introduced as the harbinger of “Buri Khabar”, or bad news.

With contestants already familiar with the format, the competition could be more strategic this time around. The players know what the game demands, but that also means they know exactly how dangerous it can be to trust someone too quickly. Stay tuned for more updates!
